A ministry of hope in the heart of Kenya

Led by Pastor James Mumo’s unwavering faith, our mission at Brook of Hope focuses on rescuing and nurturing over 26 vulnerable children through a God-centered and biblical approach. The academy, deeply rooted in spiritual growth, seamlessly integrates education with the timeless wisdom of biblical principles. Parents willingly contribute to this faith-based education, recognizing its transformative power.

Our curriculum goes beyond traditional subjects, weaving biblical values into every facet of learning. Through prayer and mentorship, we aim not only to educate but to cultivate disciples of Christ, empowered to carry the light of hope into their communities. Join us in this transformative journey where education becomes a sacred foundation for a future firmly rooted in faith and spiritual resilience.

Brook of Hope Academy

Six classrooms set the stage for learning at the newly formed Christian academy where children from all walks of life in Kenya are integrated together and can be studious and enjoy excellent outdoor play.

Brook of Hope Family

Children from homelessness, hunger and suffering were rescued and brought into safe, sanitary facilities and dormitories. We all live, learn, and play together with shared quality of life based on God-centered family values.

Bringing the Gospel locally

Rooted in our unwavering belief in Christ’s gospel, we are dedicated to creating a transformative impact in the lives of those we serve. Join us in spreading hope, building disciples, and fostering the growth of leaders who are deeply rooted in faith.

  1. Pastor James Mumo Mwalili

A heart and path for hope

Brook of Hope was founded in Kenya in 2013 by Pastor James Mumo Mwalili and his wife Susan. With the help of supporting churches, Pastor James initially rescued seven homeless boys from the streets of Kenya and gave them food, shelter, clothing and showed them the love of God.

  2. Greater opportunities with God’s love

Since then, Brook of Hope Ministries has expanded to a new property and in 2021 the new boys cottage was built allowing eight more boys to be rescued and cared for in 2022.

  3. Developing God’s children to be a force for good

In 2022, Brook of Hope Christian Academy was established with three classrooms, and now with three additional classrooms currently under construction.

  4. Do to others what you would have them do to you

In December of 2023, a girls cottage was completed allowing for the brand new addition of twelve girls that were rescued from homelessness, hunger and suffering, and were brought into the safety and care of Brook of Hope.
